What should I look out for when I buy a touring caravan? |

We recommend that you find out the following as basic precautions. Is the person selling the caravan the actual owner? Ask for proof of ownership before buying. Is there any outstanding finance and if so how will it be settled? Is the caravan roadworthy? Have it checked out by a reputable mechanic. Is your car big enough to comfortably pull a caravan? Does the price include any extras, e.g. an awning. Are you covered by insurance for towing and storage? Have all appliances and electrics tested by a suitably qualified engineer / electrician.
